It’s a really romantic and quite place full of blooming flowers. At the center of the village there is a paved square which is surrounded by small traditional shops, that you can get some souvenirs for your loved ones back home, or have some coffee at a traditional coffee shop. Close to Megalochori you find the traditional family winery “Gavalas”, which you can visit and get to taste some of Santorini’s famous local wine. Getting on the road again to visit Prophet Elijah’s monastery, located at the highest point of the island with 600 meters of height. This beach, as well as the black sand beach, takes its color from the volcano’s lava stone, creating a unique landscape that you don’t get to see every day. It is spotted approximately 500 meters away from the prehistoric town of Akrotiri which is your next stop, where you will get to see findings dated back to the late Neolithic period, at least from the 4rth millennium BC. Getting closer to the Lighthouse location which is located at the southern part of the island, in a rocky area that is surrounded by the Aegean sea providing an iconic scenery.
